GLD Accelerator: Delivering school readiness
Children’s outcomes at the end of reception are shaped long before they walk through the school gates. This practical, fast-paced evidence-based training session is designed to help early years providers, in both nursery and child minder settings, strengthen provision for 3–4 year olds in ways that directly improve Good Level of Development (GLD) at the end of the EYFS.
The design of the course is focused on place-based contexts and is fully aligned with the EYFS statutory framework and the Early Years Foundation Stage Profile. This training focuses on the prime areas as the foundation for literacy, mathematics and wider school readiness. Participants will explore what truly drives GLD outcomes and how small, intentional changes in daily practice can create measurable impact within weeks.
This is a structured, interactive session built around:
The core drivers of GLD in Communication and Language, PSED and Physical Development
Practical strategies to strengthen vocabulary, executive function and self-regulation
Low-cost, high-impact environment tweaks
Daily routines that build independence and readiness for Reception
Transition conversations that support stronger EYFSP outcomes
Participants will leave with a 30-day action plan, ready-to-use templates, and a clear understanding of how to embed quick wins while planning for sustained improvement.
Designed for childminders, nursery practitioners, pre-school leaders and early years teams working with children aged 3–4.
Format:
Live online (interactive)
Breakout discussions
Applied reflection included
CPD accredited provider
Increase school readiness and strengthen GLD outcomes in your area using a focused, evidence-informed starting point.
